Gray International – an unconventional developer with impressive consistency in building an investment portfolio.
The company’s first project is the currently starting development of a shopping and entertainment center Felicity in Lublin, the largest such facility in Eastern Poland and the third largest in the entire country.
What does it take to make a large Austrian investment company such as Meinl European Land invest 250 million Euro in a previously neglected city in Eastern Poland?
Strategic decisions involving such considerable financial means are never made on the basis of sheer promises and fantasies – says Ryszard Leśniewski, President of Gray International – to a large extent, our company owes its current position to a specific know-how covering broadly understood urban strategy, competence in financial instruments, and sound knowledge of our financial instruments and sound knowledge of our financial partners’ expectations.
The company’s second undertaking is another example of visionary approach in property development. We speak about the Gdańsk project, consisting in a total revitalization of the Granary Island, a space in the very city centre which is quite unique on the European scale. The concept for Granary Island development, commissioned by Gray International, has met with enthusiastic approval on the part of Gdańsk-based experts, city authorities and artistic circles. The fact that the City Council has adopted a resolution on starting the process of adjusting master plans for the whole Granary Island to Gray’s concept is certainly a major event.
Can we celebrate another success than?
With Granary Island there are reasons to be pleased, but we would rather see them as a commitment to keep up the hard work and meet new challenges – Ryszard Leśniewski replies.
However, we will talk of real success when the Granary Island is finally rebuilt and bustling with activity. Many people and many institutions will undoubtedly have a share in this achievement.
