Warsaw, June 23, 2008 In a ceremony on 25 June, the external traffic system around the Felicity Shopping and Entertainment Centre currently under development in the Lublin Felin district was officially put in operation. Within 14 months, on the basis of an agreement with the Lublin Municipal Office, company CH Felin had redesigned and remodelled the road system around the Felicity Shopping Centre.
Two flyovers over Aleja W. Witosa, roundabouts by A. Grygowej and Pancerniaków streets and a tunnel under Aleja W. Witosa were constructed. Two streets, Pancerniaków and A. Grygowej, underwent complete remodelling, and the latter has acquired the necessary infrastructure for a future trolleybus traction. The contractor for this project was a consortium of companies: STRABAG Sp. z o.o. (as the leader) and MOTA-ENGIL Polska S.A. and PRD-M w Lublinie S.A. The cost of works exceeded PLN 58 million.
Construction of the Felicity Centre is now the largest shopping and entertainment project in the east of Poland. The total area of the Centre including underground car-parks will be 220.000 m², and the letting area – 100.000 m². The Centre will house around 260 shops and boutiques, 25 cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as leisure and entertainment functions, including a 10-screen Multikino cinema complex. The accompanying car-park will accommodate ca. 3000 vehicles. The first contractor selected by way of tender – Warbud S.A. – took over the construction site in mid-April this year. Within 12 months, it will construct buildings for the two largest anchor tenants – hypermarkets Real and Leroy Merlin. The remaining contractors will be selected in the coming weeks.
The planned opening date for Felicity is Spring 2010.
